Is it better to store your car in a garage?
If you have a garage, you may not use it as a place to park your vehicle. Many of us have garages that we actually use as additional storage, especially for outside equipment such as lawn mowers, strimmer’s and maybe even furniture such as a table and chairs set. But parking your car in your garage can have many benefits and if you can spare the room, then it is highly recommended that you do so.
Having a garage to store your vehicle in can increase your security as it is another barrier for thieves to have to get through before they get to your car. It can also decrease the premium you pay to your car insurance company. During the winter months, you no longer have to worry about defrosting your car, instead you can just open up the garage doors and drive out. This can save a lot of time and avoid the risk of you driving it when the windows are not fully defrosted. It may also help prolong the life of the paintwork, as it will be less exposed to extreme temperatures. You need to think about what type of garage door you have fitted as if you are limited on space, you may need one that opens outwards such as side hinged doors.
